My friend Armando lives and studies in Stanford, California. For some reason, last week he received this peculiar invitation:
Dear Friends & Colleagues,
On Saturday, May 2 nd , from 10am to 2pm, there is a unique opportunity to expand our compassion for those who struggle with poverty and limited resources by participating in the Poverty Simulation Workshop. This is a workshop that will help you to understand the courage, resilience, and frustrations of those in our communities who live on the edge of homelessness and poverty. Please plan to come and we can handle quite a few people but you must pre-register so we can tailor the simulation to the number of participants.
