Cuando vi “El nacimiento de Venus”, de Botticelli, entre otras pinturas que vi en la Galería de los Uffizi en Florencia, no pude dejar de exclamar: “¡pero la que yo vi estaba recontra-photoshopeada!”. No quiere esto decir que la pintura no sea increíble, pero ciertamente los colores están en gamas, intensidades y saturaciones mucho más acordes a la cantidad de años transcurridos sobre ellas. Pero bueno, es lo que le hacen a muchas pinturas que están en los museos, para que sean más atractivas y así cautivar más gente. Mi cuestión es: si hasta “El nacimiento de Venus” está photoshopeado, ¿por qué algunos fotógrafos se obsesionan tanto con la pureza de sus fotos?

When I saw “The birth of Venus”, by Botticelli, among other paintings that I saw at the Uffizi in Florence, I couldn’t avoid exclaiming: “but the one I saw was all photoshoped!”. I don’t mean that the painting is not unbelievable, but certainly the real colors are in intensity and saturation more accordingly to the number of years passed on them. Anyway, this is what they do to a lot of paintings in museums, to make them more attractive and cautivate more people. My question is: if even “The birth of Venus” is photoshoped, why are there photographers so obsessed with the purity of their pictures?
