Cansado de ver el cartel gigante que reza “FUMAR MATA” en las cajetillas de cigarrillos, donde muestran dientes podridos, pulmones ennegrecidos, y bebés desnutridos, descubrí esta imagen que me sensibilizó mejor. En vez de contemplar un órgano putrefacto y volver la vista hacia otro lado (sin consiguir el efecto disuasor, pues la gente no fuma menos por el diseño de las cajetillas) si uno ve la cara de esta chica hermosa donde dice “fumar mata”, uno piensa “¡qué crimen, pobrecita! ¡tan bonita chica, y tan joven, cómo se va a morir!”

 Tired of looking at the huge sign reading “SMOKING KILLS” in the cigarrette boxes, where rotten teeth, blackened lungs, and starving babies are portrayed, I discovered this image which better sensitized me. Instead of contemplating at a decaying organ and looking away (without achieving the disuading effect, because people do not smoke less because of the design of the boxes) if one looks at the face of this beautiful girl where it says “smoking kills”, one thinks “what a crime, poor thing! Such a beautiful girl, and so young, how come she will die!”.
