Peor que un mal expositor, es un mal moderador.

Este sujeto estaba moderando una plática entre 2 curadores. Antes de preguntar algo a ellos, habló media hora de sus puntos de vista, y luego hizo cinco preguntas al primero de los expositores. Le preguntó:

- cuál era su relación con las obras que elegía

- qué sentía que le daba él a la exposición

- cuál era la dimensión teórica que le daba a su trabajo

- cómo establecía el diálogo interdisciplinario entre obras de distinta naturaleza

- y cómo se traducía eso en el resultado de la exposición

Luego de que le hizo todas estas preguntas (que sería imposible para cualquiera responderlas si no las está anotando) giró su cuerpo 45 grados y le dijo al segundo expositor, sin que el primero hubiera jamás respondido: “¿qué piensas tú de esto?”

Being a bad moderator is worse than being a bad exhibitor.

This person was moderating a talk between 2 curators. Before asking anything to them, he talked half an hour about his points of view, and then he asked five questions to the first exhibitor. He asked:

- which was his relationship with the works he chose

- what did he feel the exhibition was giving to him

- what was the theoretical dimension given by his work

- how did he establish the interdisciplinary dialogue between works of different nature

- and how did that result in the outcome of the exhibition

After asking all these questions (that would be impossible for anyone to answer them unless you’re writing them down) he turned his body 45 degrees and he said to the second exhibitor, without the first had ever answered: ‘what do you think about this?’
