Mi amigo quedó maravillado con este árbol en medio de la peatonal: su forma lánguida, sus flores de blanco impoluto a pesar del smog, el arco natural que dibujaba sobre los transeúntes. Lleno de entusiasmo, comenzó a tomarle fotos. Un señor, parado en la puerta de un negocio, pensando que no entendíamos español, le dijo a otro que estaba junto a él: “estos gringos le sacan fotos hasta a la basura”.

My friend was astonished with this tree in the middle of the pedestrian street: its languid shape, its unpolluted white flowers in spite of the smog, the natural arch it drew over passers-by. Fill with enthusiasm, he began taking pictures. A man, standing at a shop’s door, thinking we didn´t understand spanish, said to another that was next to him: ‘this gringos take photos even to garbage’.
